Founded by four PhDs with rich industrial experience, we combine the evidence-based Observe-Deduce-Analysis approach with holistic analytical methods to tackle complex issues. We not only help our clients understand the root cause(s) of their problems but also take hands-on to solve the problems.
Our consultants are experts in Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering with BEng, MEng and PhD degrees from world-leading universities. Most of our consultants are Chartered Engineers (CEng) registered with Engineering Council of the United Kingdom, with technical leadership experience in multinational leading manufacturer, such as Rolls Royce, and TIC companies, such as TÜV SÜD, and DNV. They have been engaged as principal investigator of many industrial failures and as expert witness in many court cases and give testimony in court trials for cases in Singapore and abroad.
Dr Derek GONG is Managing Director and Principal Consultant at OSKEFER. He is a Charted Engineer (CEng) registered with the Engineering Council, UK and a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMMM).
Dr Gong has 16 years of experience in failure investigation, root cause analysis, loss adjusting, risk engineering, and technology development. Apart from his general investigation experience, Dr Gong is an expert in failures of turbine and machinery, including gas and steam turbine, etc.
As an ex-loss adjuster, Dr Gong well understands the differences in services required by insurance/legal professionals and that required by OEMs/operators. At OSKEFER, he is primarily responsible for extending our failure investigation/root cause analysis services to insurance industries.

Dr Yong ZHAO is Director and Principal Consultant at OSKEFER. He is a Charted Engineer (CEng) registered with the Engineering Council, UK and a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMMM).
Dr Zhao has 16 years of experience in failure analysis, forensic engineering investigation, fire investigation, risk-based design review, and condition assessment. In addition to his general investigation experience, Dr Zhao is an expert in failures of transportation systems, including railway and automotive.
Dr Zhao has been engaged as Expert Witness in multiple high-profile litigation cases in various countries, including Singapore and Malaysia.

Dr Xianbin LIU is a Director and Principal Consultant at OSKEFER. He is a Charted Engineer (CEng) registered with the Engineering Council, UK and a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMMM).
Dr Liu has 17 years of experience in failure analysis, forensic engineering investigation, materials characterization, risk-based inspection, and process improvement. Besides his general investigation experience, Dr Liu is an expert in failures of oil & gas facilities.
Dr Liu has completed more than 200 failure and incident investigation projects in a wide range of different industrial sectors.

Dr Chen WANG is a Director and Adjunct Principal Consultant at OSKEFER. He has a PhD degree in Materials Science and Computational Mechanics.
Dr Wang has more than 12 years of research experience in fracture mechanics, finite-element analysis, composite failure and material characterizations. He is an expert in failure modes of composites and numerical failure prediction in multiple length scales.
Dr Wang brings his analytical expertise to OSKEFER and closely support other directors to collectively solve critical problems for our customers.
